I only pop in to comment once in a blue moon, but I do look at Sim Pearls every day.  I am not a creator, just a player and enjoy everyone else's creations.  I'm Lori, age 64, married 45 years, one son, one daughter, four living grandchildren.  My last grandchild, a girl, was stillborn July 2024.  Her loss, along with the death of my father in 2019, has made me much more appreciative of the loved ones I still have. My mother is 90 years old and we do jigsaw puzzles together each week.  I play Sims 2 and rarely miss a day playing.  I love how everyone on this site is kind and encouraging to one another.  Thanks to Ginny for her daily updates of interesting custom content.  And thanks to Deatherella for, in my opinion, the best walls made for Sims 2!  Also, I've loved hippos since I was a little girl.  Collected them for nearly 60 years! Happy birthday, Sim Pearls!

sillytig Hi there, I'm 67 years old and have been married for 45 years. I have 4 glorious adult children{3 of them are triplets} who refuse to give me just one little grandchild {I mention this to them daily}. I adore cats. I lived and thrived in Pendleton Oregon until my family moved to Massachusetts which was a huge culture shock that I don't think I've ever gotten over. I paint, work with clay, quilt and color with colored pencils. I create Christmas folk art for juried craft shows. As soon as I can get rid of my husband and Diane Krueger I plan on spending the rest of my life with Norman Reedus. I lost my best friend since I was 12 to cancer a few months ago {I miss you dearly Sandy}. I MUST have my Haagen Das Coffee ice cream every day. I LOVE to read post-apocalypse books. As a young girl I was obsessed with horses and only walked on my tippy toes for an entire year because I wanted to be a horse{palomino please}. One more odd Betsy fact: I am allergic to water {it's called aquagenic urticaria and absolutely no fun}. I adore SimPearls and all of the wonderful people I've come to know. Thank you for being a part of my life.  :pinkieheart

I'm 72 years old and have been married to a loving man for 50 years. Unfortunately, we don't have any children, but we do have many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews to spoil. The last two years haven't been great. My husband suffered severe damage from his third coronavirus vaccination and spent six months in intensive care. He's been home for a year now and has to train hard.
When I have time, I do something for Sims 4.
Oh yeah, Betsy, Norman Reedus is already taken. poohbear
Hopefully Google translates all this correctly.

Hi, I'm 67 years old and been married for 46 years, not to my high school sweetheart, although we did go to the same high school and worked together at a local movie theatre when we were 13 years old.  I have 3 grown children and have 19 grandchildren (my eldest child has 13, all single births).  I have recently used chalk paint for the first time on a pie safe, wax applied yesterday, buffing today, hoping for a good outcome.  I have been playing Sims since Sims 1 came out, and embarrassingly admit that it was not until Sims 3 that I had any idea that custom content existed, lol.  I recently lost a very good friend to brain cancer, while dealing with breast cancer treatment myself, and having to make a move, so it has been several months since I have even opened The Sims.  It feels good to get back.

I am 78 years old, got into The Sims in 1999, and dear Linda Murray (Boo) got me into Saving the Sims (then called Gone But Not Forgotten Sims) in 2003.  I have said many times that doing what I do in The Sims World is what has kept me sane after losing my wonderful husband in 2020 (on this day, in fact).  Dick was the cutest, most adorable person, and a lot of fun.  We were in one another's lives for 50 years, lived together 48, and were married 47.  My other interests are true crime and reading (true crime, hiatory, cozy mysteries).  On more than one occasion Dick was asked did he sleep with one eye open since I knew more ways to kill someone than most.  His reply (with his cute smile) was "I am worth a whole lot more alive than dead!".   I was born in Baltimore, MD, grew up in Catonsville, MD, moved to Hyattsville, MD when I went to work for the Library of Congress.  After Dick & I married we bought a house in Alexandria, Va.  We moved in 2002 to Saddlebrooke, AZ, an old farts community near Tucson, which is a wonderful place.  With no children (our kids had 4 feet and barked) and family being back east, our friends have been a great support to me.  Ginnie

You don't know how much I would've want to say <<Good bye, FannyCandySims! You've been a good friend to me! I'm afraid I was at loss about the reason of your swift retirement from the site without saying Goodbye, so I felt it has something to do with me. If I give you any reason, I'm really sorry! It was not my intention!>>
So now is time for me to say << Welcome again! I think you accomplished so much since your departure! I'm glad to make your acquaintance once more and good luck with your studies and your Sims work which is very much appreciated!>>

Dear Roxana, I'm sorry for not saying goodbye and for not saying anything. It was rude of me. I hope you can forgive me.

You were a great friend to me when I was FannyCandySims and you have been so even now when I am Tete, without knowing my secret. That shows how welcoming you are.

And know that what happened was not because of you, but I have put what happened behind me, so much so that after a few years I came back here.

Hi, I'm Sharon and I'm 63 years old. I am married and we have 3 children. A daughter and then twins, a boy and a girl. I love animals of all kinds, including snakes and bugs! :) I am very fortunate to live a few hours drive from a bunch of game reserves including the Kruger National Park.  I also enjoy gardening, baking, I read a lot, and love to travel.

I started playing Sims right in the beginning when one of my children brought home The Sims (1) when it first came out.  I love the game although do not play very often anymore.  I used to enjoy creating for Sims2 for Black Pearl Sims and still miss that quite a lot.

This year, 2025, has been quite an exciting one so far! This year my husband has been cancer free for almost 10 years, in February we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary, my mom celebrated her 97th birthday in March, and I became a grandmother for the first time (after a very long wait) only two days ago.  heartybear We now have a little grandson, and his name is Jude. Life is good!

^Hi Sharon, nice to meet you. I see your name pop up on a lot of recolour files I have from BPS lol.

I'm Sam - from Perth, Western Australia, 27 yrs old. Started playing the Sims around 2004 and still playing for all these years. I just bought a PlayStation 5 and getting into some newer games.

I make rcs sometimes - but hardly ever anymore. I have participated in a few DOTY challenges over the years but just don't have those skills anymore I guess lol.

This is going to be long, cause I have quite a few funny facts to share about my life.
Serious things first, I am recently divorced after spending most of my married life alone. But I have some sweet memories from the time me and my husband spend together and a beautiful daughter and for four years now a beautiful granddaughter as well. I am a Zumba and Qi gong enthusiast ever since and since my husband didn't like pets around the house, I'd make sure a have a lot of those now( a dog and two cats). I believe in the ability of body healing its self and the most important thing that feeds us is in the earth and sky. I have days in which I don't remember if I ate, usually very happy days but if something is bothering me I can eat a cake or two or even three. I pasted  my retirement age, but in my line of work it seams there is no such thing!!!!
As long as I could remember I liked colors and shiny things. My mother and father were both artists at heart, mother used to paint and father played the violin and guitar at parties. He has a really nice voice as well and made a duet with one of my uncles that was anthological, playing both the same guitar, my uncle seated in my father's lap (he was very tall and my uncle short).
I also loved the way he and my mother used to dance together ( the spinning around the room in waltz).
I was fearless and very sensitive as a small child, so my first memories are the ones in which my grandmother tried to scare me so I behave in a more cautious way and sleep in the afternoons.
My love for shiny things and fearless nature took a nasty turn when I got lost in my first trip to the mountains. My parents were busy unpacking and I was in front of the house looking at the shiny stones. It was a beautiful shiny day. From stone to stone, I left the house and was gone!
There is an anecdote circling in my family that I could talk to horses and my best friend was a lamb. I have my grandmother and uncle ( who was some sort of forest doctor as I perceive it at the time) to thank for my strong nature bonding. My uncle found the location and my grandmother was brave enough to take two small children (me and my cousin ) in places with no running water or electricity.
Fan fact about my Sims experience. My husband was the one that brought Sims ( the first one ) into my life and also the one who make sure I don't spend too much time playing it. My first family was composed of a little girl wearing a pink dress which I watched in despair walking around the house.
For the Sims2 I start creating after making an account at BPS and at the time I didn't recolor, mostly build and decorate. My daughter was playing and my part in her game was to make a house.
After spending my first Christmas without my husband I decided to start learning my way into PS and became an addict ever since. It was my very first contest at BPS and I didn't know how to post my pictures and magically Betsy pop up asking me questions and giving advice. I don't now how she did that, but she was a God send. I never leave the site ever since and when SimPearls came to live I couldn't wait to start all over again.

I think most of you know stuff about me already. I celebrated my 60th birthday last year. I have three adult children, 2 daughters, 1 married, and a son who still lives at home. My son has autism and got his first job November last year. My oldest daughter is an English/Special Needs teacher at the same school as me. I am a specialist teacher for learners with dyslexia and Dyscalculia. I am also an Assistant Special Educational Needs co-ordinator. I have five grandchildren, 16, 17 (next week), 6, 4 and 3 years respectively.
I love watching Korean and Chinese dramas, my dream holiday would be to go to South Korea and visit the palaces, eat authentic Korean food and try on a hanbok. I love the historical dramas best.
I have three cats, one has no eyes. She came to me as a kitten after having an eye removed when it became infected after contracting cat flu. Christmas 23 she got an ulcer behind her remaining eye and had to have it removed. She does remarkably well and has made me a much tidier person. I can't leave stuff lying around in case she walks into it.
This year would be my ruby wedding anniversary but sadly I lost my husband on New Years Eve 2020.
I love spending time with my grandchildren and most school holidays I take my daughter and her two youngest away. We've just got back from a weekend at Hastings. Since lockdown we've had a girls weekend away the last weekend in August, that's both of my daughters, the two youngest granddaughters and Teddy who's the youngest grandchild.

I too was given Sims (1) by my son for my birthday and have had every version of the game since. After Sims 2 I said I wasn't going to get the new version and each time someone bought it for me for my birthday or Christmas. lol.
I'd love be be able to create meshes but no matter which technique I use I haven't been successful so I just stick to recolouring and building.

Ivyrose - I also watch Korean dramas! In fact, that is almost all I watch.  And I also love the historical dramas because of the  beautiful clothing and locations.  My husband and I were blessed enough to visit South Korea twice because my son in law (in the US Navy) was stationed there for three years.  Our first trip in 2019 was mostly to spend time with a brand new grandson (born in Seoul, South Korea!) but we were able to do some sightseeing.  Our second trip was in February 2020, and unfortunately, the very day after we arrived, Covid forced us all to be confined to the base for the entirety of our three week visit.  So, no sightseeing - how sad.  My husband started learning Korean before the 2019 visit and has gotten pretty good at formal speech.  We very much would like to visit the country again.  Right now, my son in law is stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, but they hope to return to Korea as well.  It is beautiful - we were there for the cherry blossoms blooming and there are no words to describe how lovely it is.  The country feels so safe - children will walk home from their after school academies by themselves even late at night.  All the Korean food we were able to have was wonderful - Korean BBQ with the grill in the center of the table and all the side dishes scattered around - a fun experience.  I hope you get to visit there someday and see the palaces.
