reinstalling Sims 2
« on: February 12, 2018, 10:33:35 AM »
So here's the thing. My game kept crashing so I decided to reinstall through origin. I backed up lot catalogue, neighbourhoods and my graphic rules. I completely removed my downloads folder. I uninstalled and then reinstalled. To my amazement, both my lots and neigborhoods remained intact. Now I am wondering if I'd left my downloads folder in, would it have saved that too?

Kim, are you delete EA-folder from documents-folder, when you uninstall the game?

No, I thought uninstalling/reinstalling would remove/overwrite it?

No. When you uninstall the game, all documents-folders (EA \ The Sims 2 \ etc) remain in their places. And when you install it again, game just check it. You may delete this folder anytime you need and when you starting Sims - Origin will create a new one.
One thing, which I've noticed is a restored default neighborhoods. But this 'problem' wasn't appearenced last time, when I've install the game.
