I have got back to working on this over the last weekend. I'm trying to get all these half-done or done with no preview things laying around in my pc all done and uploaded.
Do you guys want the recolors from the stuff other people made that were included in the original set, too? That would be the easy part, you know.

I have a small progress report.
I haven't tried these out in game yet but here is the stool and the desk: .
I found something weird in while in preview in simpe, too. ---
I have to fire up my game and see if that side of the shadows really has a half a desktop on it. Which is wierd since I redid all the shadow meshes and re-mapped where they go. The shadows are as good as I can draw them. I totally suck at drawing with a mouse so when I can't use the rectangle thingy to make a nice box, I gotta wing it. If that half a desktop is showing up somewhere it shouldn't be whatsover in-game, I deleting the east and west shadows. The ground shadow has it's own section of the template so I don't understand what's happening there.
And before I quit doing projects, I got the floor lamp started:
And that looks fine until you start twirling it around in the preview window and you get this:
Another thing I have to check out in game to see if that's just the mmat preview doing what it wants or if the shade went wonky on the base mesh.
I cloned base game meshes for the surfaces except the tv unit and divider. They have all those shelf sectins with tons of slots and I can make slots in the right position but adding a zillion is beyond me. Is there anyone here good at doing slots that wants to help with those two items? I have all the parts from the sims 3 meshes ready for use.

I cant tell whats going on with the shadows of the table, but if you cant fix it, you can send me the file and I will look at it.

For the lamp shade: Could it be that the normals of the mesh got messed up and show in the wrong direction?

I checked them in-game last night before I played my Pleasantville challenge. The light looks fine and works with those black and blue boxes that turn lights on and off in build. Forgot to put it in a house with sims to check it out. Maybe it looks weird in the simpe preview because pretty much all the floor lamp meshes I cloned had more parts than the loft lamp did and the shade is on the part called inside shade for the base clone. The base clone is like the third or fourth I tried trying to find something that only had a couple parts. The floor lamp I made is using one of moxxa's floor lamps for the base. The bulb in it is the maxis bulb now. I should check it out with sims later today.
The desk and chair floor shadows look okay except the stool is missing the cross bars to the wheels and looks funny so I have to lighten those up on the template. I put walls around the desk but the side shadows weren't showing up, don't know what my problem is, can't remember how to check wall shadows.

I started this and had it all but finished long ago. I have crappy in-game pics but here's everything:
And this last one shows one of the recolors of Anye's pillows I did up (for the furniture recolors that didn't get ran thru simpe yet.)
Included are the orginal recolors for everything that was already made, too. The seating by CrazyDestinyFire, the lamps by 10pandas, and the wood coffeetable by Mari/PaisleyAvenue. There are also a ton of recolors for Anye's Good Life pillows. I made a 1-storey version of the 2-storey deco curtain, too. I used Kim's square rug to make the rugs, I made it 4x4 to make the rugs come out the size in the original set.
You can download everything but the tv unit and divider HERE if you'd like this set.
And, now, about those two other items. I keep having to re-do over and over the slot heights. I don't know what the problem is, I keep checking the shelf heights in milkshape, putting those down in simpe, checking in my game and there's always two or three shelf rows of slots that are all in the wrong place.
The placement is centered right on the shelves, it's just the height that keeps messing up. If there are any slot adjusting experts that would like to give it a shot, let me know and I'll pm you the meshes and the obj files to put in your 3d program.
When I finally get the slots right on those two last items, I'll do up pretty prev's and get all the recoloring psd's in order and do a proper upload.
