Title: Ekrubynaffits Album
Post by: ekrubynaffit on June 10, 2015, 01:27:41 PM
Starting off with a w.i.p
This is the landgrabs house in Bluewater Village (I never knew the Landgrab(s) lived in Bluewater village until earlier this week, shows how much I use it!)

This is the monstrosity before (note, the garage did not even have a garage door, how slack is that!!)

And this is so far what I have done

Oh, my! From a crappy lot to one with lots of curb appeal!  :ssig_wowspring_100-100:  You have made this house worth having in the game!

I've often thought that they just threw some stuff together to make a house for so many of these lots. The 'it don't have to look good, it just has to be there for play-testing' kind of mentality. Then they left them for us to deal with (and tried to convince us that these lots & borked people were 'added content' that we should be overjoyed to have).

Thanks everyone, yes I quite agree, and the thing I hate the most on maxis lots is the god awful roofs!! Thats always the first thing I makeover, somethimes spend a good hour trying to remedy the fug!!

Anyway here is the dining room

I love your make over, I sometimes thing that EA spend very little time on the house in game or maybe they just know e're all going to demolish them and change them so they don't worry too much.

I love your make over and the interior is really great.

Now this is a massice improvement.Always hated how poor and boring TS 2 Stock Lots were made and decorated. They always look they the Guys at EA didn`t even try to make nice looking homes.
I love what you did with the House,it certainly has a nice mediterran feeling, especially the exterior.

Thankyou Naboru, its just the one house, making over a maxis house, so I didnt build it just tweaked and tried to make it look better than it was lol! I used to like building big, bt it just takes so long and I tend to run out of ideas of what to put in, am more for building medium now, sometimes smallish, but like to have enough room for more than one sim!

New WIP, another maxis makeover, this time its one of the little townhouses that came with nightlife. I always liked this house, looked nice and compact but its very spacious inside. Im branching out and trying to decorate in Art Nouveau, with a bit of a modern take on it somthing Ive never done before!

I have played the game a bit tonight instead of building, Some of you may have seen my families in my album at BPS, some of you may not have. Long story short I took prominent maxis families and re-created them, including dead relatives.

Tonight I visited the Brokes again.

Just a refresher on the family
In the middle is Brandi and Skip Broke, behind them is Brandis parents, bob and Bettie Newbie, in front is Dustin and Beau Broke.

(Since this picture Beau has aged to a child and the bun in the oven is now in the form of a toddler named Carrie, time flies when you're having fun!)
(http://iforce.co.nz/i/cff1u1iu.tqu.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=cff1u1iu.tqu.jpg)

This particular Saturday the temperature dropped and gusts of snow kept stopping and starting so after Skip went off to work Bettie and Bob sat down with the boys and had a few games of 'Dont wake the Lama', while Brandi got stuck into her painting. (Dustin is just two days away from his birthday)
(http://iforce.co.nz/i/0z4fynxu.mer.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=0z4fynxu.mer.jpg)

There were alot of funny concentration faces and arm waving, was a very serious game!

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/ioqjjhsj.xj3.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=ioqjjhsj.xj3.jpg)

In the end Bob took it out!
(http://iforce.co.nz/i/x2jy5v32.do2.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=x2jy5v32.do2.jpg)

Bettie went ahead and prepared some of her hot comfort soup to warm everyone up on the cold day, and when Skip arrived home they all had a nice family meal.

Hot belgian Waffles!!!Now those are cool looking Houses. There is something about the Combination of white Details and teal colored clapboard walls that makes me fuzzy everytime.I love that colorcombo. hearts
Te grungy House looks great, kinda like an aged Version of the first Building.,al ouse, you are using Fairyforests Metropolitan Windows.I would suggest using them on the aged House too because they also have grungy/dirty recolors.Just a stupid idea from me,no need to think of it :D
Besides that,i love the Interior.Such a Hodgepodge of different Styles ans Stuff and as i can see,the Cups are already set up for a Drinking Game, right? :D

I've just peeked through your whole album. Tiff you are so talented decoration wise!

I love the makeover of the Landgraab's and the student's house, and the beach house both before and after - and.... well I think I'm going to have to say - wowsers and leave it at that.

And there's stuff you've done that I've never even thought to do - I'm going to be using some of your techniques I think - I particularly was taken with the combination of loft and veil of dreams curtains - they look great!

Gorgeous!

Thankyou Kacicka, always happy to help improve someones mood :D

Aww Kiri you're so sweet! I have to admit though I copied that curtain idea from someone else when I saw it in a house at mts few years back, I think it might have been Honeywell!

I visited your whole album and there are so many pics that I love. You are a master in renovation. Some ugly maxis houses (!?) have become beautiful welcoming sweet homes. I love quite especially the downstairs in your fist makeover, with this gorgeous staircase and a sweet color palette. Then I wish I could spend the Christmas day in your wood house by the fireplace, with the whole family and tons of chocolate... and I would love playing with your cute simmies.

Thanks so much for making us dream.  hearts

Hm..Sorry for my dumb question: What does W.I.P. means? (I feel stupid)

This is the start of the Newsons house, since they're all orphans they cant afford much, the landlord fixed up their kitchen a little before they moved in and people round the neighbourhood donated some stuff, but most of it comes from the eco store.

I love it.The dual colored Kitchen looks great and has a nice retro Vibe. The Landlord also better fixes the tiled Floor,i bet there are some Spare Tiles somewhere in the Basement or whereever there`s Room for Storage... :)
The other Rooms also look very nice and perfect for starting a Life.
The Furniture kinda reminds me of my Livingroom when i moved in...a Couch,a single Seat and a Crate with a Board on it as a Table....oh and of course a TV.
I also have a small WCIF:That Fireplace like Thing in the 4th Picture, what is it and where can i find it?

Your new Split Level House looks amazing. There is something about the Color Combo of White and Turqoise that always looks great.
Also it`s nice to see that the bright and frienly Colors from the Outside also finds their Way to the Inside.
BTW,is it just me or did you use the Ingame climbing Ivy at the Garagedoor and used rotating OMSP`s to place the Ivys vertical and horzontal?
I must admit, that`s a very clever and unique Idea.
Speaking of Gardening,i like your Garden. At least you have some Gardening Skills in Sims,i only plop a few lush Bushes and large Tres to make a Garden look crowded :D
And yep,i hate Gardening in RL,too but still have a green Thumb when it comes to Indoor Plants :D

Thinks Chris
Yes it is indeed that ivy bush from the game placed on omsps. As its split level it makes the walls warped so I like to try and hide it in some way, went for somthing different than just the usual slapping a plant over it!

And Im flattered you think I have Gardening skills! Its always the most dreaded part for me. Can quickly decorate a house no problems, but when it comes to gardening, I just seem to fall flat!! Took me nearly 2 hours just to do that teeny tiny front part, and I still need to do the big back yard, which is why I havnt loaded this house since the last pics, as Im procrastinating!  lolol

Today I was missing my Nana, she passed away on my birthday (aug 5th) 16 years ago now, though it dosnt feel like its been that long! So I decided to immortalise her as a Sims character, and then of course I had to start fixing up her little bungalow. I went looking for, and found, stuff that she actually had, like the step stool chair in the kitchen, I used to pretend that was a horse. And the fake puff ball flowers on top of the magazine rack, though her's looked a little worse for wear. And as pretty much all Nanas had, the I love Lucy plant pot head! ahhh memories! Anyway heres some pics of Nana's living room and kitchen.

Last week my game went poof, one night I was happily building and then the next night, nada! All my games including my AGS games were all there, all the files, downloads etc were still there but loading up the game, nada! I tried everything, copying and pasting files, simpe stuff, a few other things, but no matter what I tried I just not could get it back! So I decided to bite the bullet and uninstall. Ive spent the last four days downloading things. For the first time ever I am trying to have a predominantly maxis match game, and Im excited! So here is a few shots of my first household in this new beginning!

Ive never used any sims or done anything in Desiderata Valley before so I am going to make this my hood, making over each house one by one. John Mole is the first to get the special treatment

It is sad when it happens, I ran into all my family and all the houses I had built just disappeared from the neighborhood. So now I make backups of my neighborhood periodically and have saved all my downloads to USB sticks.

Ever since I lost my game, I hadnt been motivated to create a new one, have tried a few times, but nothing was getting me hooked until today. I came across this complete hood today by the name of Beacon Falls, and I was blown away! It comes with lots, sub hoods, sims and also scenarios, some with very big problems in their lives! So I downloaded and am now starting on renos for my first family in Beacon Falls.

Meet the Pembrokes.

Left to right we have Jared Pembroke, his brother Eron Pembroke and their parents Hugh and Valerie Pembroke

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/rdd0zspc.dsv.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=rdd0zspc.dsv.jpg)

Theirs is a bit of a sad story:

Hugh Pembroke and his son Lloyd fished the seas around Beacon Falls. One stormy night their boat went down and Lloyd wass drowned. Unable to continue Hugh retired from the life he loved because the sea had stolen his son. The family are still broken from the tragedy, Hugh and Valerie have opened a small home business, but everything is different now, will a florist be enough to keep him occupied, and how are the rest of the family managing to cope?

Their house so far

:thankeefrog Poppy  :purpflowpot

I started on the next families house in Beacon Falls. I located Lloyd Pembrokes widow and his two children.

Introducing Amy Pembroke, her eldest daughter Callie and Toddler Elise.

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/ss1atunp.3k1.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=ss1atunp.3k1.jpg)

Their story as follows:

Lloyd’s widow Amy lives in what was meant to be their new home with their two young daughters. She finds Valerie’s interference to be annoying, making her even more unhappy as she copes with her loss. She understands that Valerie misses Lloyd desperately, after all he had been their “golden boy”; Amy can see that her mother-in-law wants something to keep her occupied, she means well, but there are some things Amy needs to decide on her own.

So far I have redone their Kitchen, which is located in the basement type area of the bungalow. Laundry and dinette are here too. I actually really like how this turned out!

Carrying on in Beacon Falls, this is Mekala Singh and her daughter Carmina,

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/3zc05two.wc2.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=3zc05two.wc2.jpg)

Theirs is also another tale of woe:

To Mekala, the choice was clear; leaving her husband and taking their toddler daughter Carmina with her was the only option she could take. A business deal which Tamal made had gone very, very wrong, then to her amazement he promised a betrothal between Carmina and a local mafia member’s son to pay off the debt! Mekala felt pushed to protect her daughter; she isn’t proud of the life she has been forced to live whilst in hiding, but is tired of being on the run. She is fearful of Tamal, and worried at what he might try to do if he finds them.
Tamal remains an angry man, because with Mekala going against him, all he had and worked is now lost, and he claims their lives are now at risk from those out to take their revenge…

(I found Tamal in Beacon Falls Downtown, eek he’s nearly caught up with her!)

I decided that Mekala’s little house really needed a total makeover, as she dosnt have alot of money I did my best with what we had. A new lick of paint in hers and Carminas favourite colour was a good start

And then inside the ‘pop’ of colour is right the way through!

I decided to send some sims to College. After alot of playing with each others feelings, bed hopping and a few house fights they finally paired of with their prospective partners - for the time being, some may last longer as a couple more than others!

Bottom Left - Dakota Lynwood and William Wright

Bottom Right - Westley Tyler Price and Ionie Bains

Middle - Eron Pembroke and Buffy Chantel Samson

Top - Hilary Wentworth and Eric Enrill

I havnt played in awhile, since my last update my college bound sims have graduated, I just failed at getting any pics of them in College!
A couple of the girls had surprise pregnancys while in College   ohewww and their parents took the baby in while they finished up.

So today we go to the home of Ionie Bains, her Mum Lauren Fratster Bains, he Mums Skeezy new husband, Steven Fratster who cant seem to keep his eyes of Ionie, and Ionies long term boyfriend Westley Tyler Price has moved in as well, and they are both reunited with their son Charlie Price. They've also adopted a little dog called Alia.

Well, I just feel like Ive gone through a 9 month pregnancy myself after what we’ve gone through  with Amiee Pembroke this evening! After the poor womans ordeal I feel like I need a good stiff Brandy!!

The last time I played The Pembrokes house Amiee had a nervous breakdown and then found out she was pregnant and was doing this.

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/ym2a0g14.a3k.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=ym2a0g14.a3k.jpg)

With the new arrival on the way I thought it was time to expand, so I went up built a third floor, and created a new room for Callie and Elise - sneak peek

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/ilge2sxf.mla.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=ilge2sxf.mla.jpg)
(http://iforce.co.nz/i/i5rnwzt4.plz.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=i5rnwzt4.plz.jpg)

As soon as I did that Aimee down in the kitchen seemed to drop her toaster pastry and clutch her stomach and I thought wow, good timing - but no, the poor woman actually had a miscarriage!!!!

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/yvlklbzh.irz.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=yvlklbzh.irz.jpg)

And if that wasnt bad enough no one stuck around to console her, her husband went off to work, girls went of to school, and well the dog, he peed on the floor, there were cockroaches on the landing, and on the kitchen floor, due to the rubbish stuck in the corner of the pantry that had gone unnoticed for days, and the toilets were really icky due to all the morning sickness, it was not a good start for the day! And then at the end of the day both Aimee and Lloyd caught the flu! A couple of days progressed and yay, Aimee was pregnant agin, but then the first night just after she had gone to bed she hopped up and grabbed her stomach again and I thought nooooooooooooooooooo its going to happen again!! But it just said due to her delicate condition she would have to have plenty of rest and eat the right foods! Now this woman can puke, just about every minute of every day she was pregnant she was puking!! I followed her around EVERYWHERE making her clean the toilets, keep her hands clean wash the sinks, and soon she was doing it all on her own and almost maxed out her cleaning skill because of it! In her last trimester she was looking quite rotound and Callie wanted to have a wee touch

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/33kyipm3.p4k.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=33kyipm3.p4k.jpg)

I took some time out from babysitting Aimee (not long mind you) and followed the girls outside, they’d built a snow man and snow angels.

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/dzxglekz.va0.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=dzxglekz.va0.jpg)
(http://iforce.co.nz/i/s50buhs2.lmg.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=s50buhs2.lmg.jpg)

And Callie even made a new friend, she’s always patting the stray animals, has a dog that comes visits all the time (would you believe its called Tiffany, if you know me you will know the irony!)

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/kiujprdk.jfg.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=kiujprdk.jfg.jpg)

While I was checking on Aimee, Elise came in to warm her self up

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/p4meyltb.rwf.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=p4meyltb.rwf.jpg)

And then that night once again Aimee hopped out her bed grabbed her stomach and this time safely delivered her baby, while Lloyd slept through it all (USELESS) Here we are welcoming little Lucas Pembroke to the world, and breathing a sigh of relief that its over and please please Aimee dont roll a want for anymore, Im not sure I could handle it!!

It seems the people of Beacon Falls are slowly losing the plot, this is Toni Lynwood, she has 3 girls and a boy, one of her girls has just graduated College and moved in with her boyfriend. The twins thankfully get on, and the boy seems to be showing good potential. Poor Toni though had a nervous break down and all of a sudden decided to dance with a lampshade on her head, whatever floats your boat I suppose!

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/czwueuyb.b1u.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=czwueuyb.b1u.jpg)

And then after she’d finished her wee dance, went out to the front of the house and started begging for money!

(http://iforce.co.nz/i/0n1mcnud.dxd.jpg) (http://www.iforce.co.nz/View.aspx?i=0n1mcnud.dxd.jpg)

Oh Toni, its a crap life, somedays I feel like dancing with a lampshade and begging for money too!!!
